November 17th saw the latest in the inspiring series of events 'Jim Meets...', when British theoretical physicist, author and broadcaster Jim Al-Khalili met with 'The Supervet' Professor Noel Fitzpatrick at the University of Surrey.
Professor Noel Fitzpatrick is the Founder and Managing Director of Fitzpatrick Referrals and is a world leader in veterinary neuro-orthopaedics. He is recognised and respected globally as a true thought leader in his field of expertise.
WilkieTV provided a four camera live-streaming setup, director and vision mixer, and all video engineering support for the event in one of the University of Surrey's flagship lecture theatres. In particular, the use of Q-Ball Robotic cameras meant that the event could be covered unobtrusively, with all cameras controlled remotely from the gallery. This minimised impact on audience sightlines and provides a more relaxed environment for the participants without feeling overlooked by a large production team.
One of WilkieTV's live streaming kits, the WilkieBox
was provided for the event; plus three robotic cameras and one traditional camera. The team liaised with the University's Stage Crew to ensure setup, rehearsals and the event itself went as smoothly as possible.
The event was cut live and recorded in full HD, along with a mix-down of the sound feed from the stage. Each individual angle was also recorded for future re-cuts or highlights material.
