The British Basketball League's Finals at the O2 Arena use WilkieTV's OB Kit and Wireless Video Links to enhance audience engagement and heighten production values!
Taking place on the 10th of May, the British Basketball League Playoff Final took place to a 17,000 strong crowd at the O2 Arena, London. From previous finals held at the NIA Arena, Birmingham and Wembley Arena, London, taking Basketball to The O2 demostrates a huge step forward for the league.
WilkieTV were brought in to assist with audience engagement and in-house video to screens. Working with the BBL team and their own media team, WilkieTV successfully integrated the WilkieBox solution into the day's proceedings. Taking a feed from the BBC broadcast, mixing in live graphics and overlays, and our own pair of wireless HD cameras allowed a great alternative mix to be provided to the four large in-house LED screens.
Our camera operators were able to follow the action, moving freely about the court to capture the proceedings from tighter angles than possible from the courtside. This was particularly well used during timeouts, breaks and half-time where the close up camerawork allowed the crowd to really feel part of the entertainment on display.
As always, the WilkieBox system is neat, efficient and cost effective. To find out more about how it could enhance your sports event, please get in touch
