Devised by independent media agency the7stars and social distribution company Jungle Creations, engineered and streamed live via WilkieTV and hosted on Viral Thread Facebook page, Iceland's interactive digital campaign highlighting the problem of food waste went live with great success on January the 19th 2017.
The interactive live stream featured an elaborate ice statue containing £700 worth of notes, the competition was broadcast live by WilkieTV and hosted on Viral Thread's Facebook site. Facebook Live viewers were asked to direct the host in real-time and guess how long it would take to melt the ice, eventually reaching the money for a chance to win.
In order to stream live, WilkieTV used one of their custom designed broadcast kits to manage and push the stream to Facebook Live. We used a Blackmagic Cinema camera to capture the event. Comments from viewers were streamed to a large plasma screen which the host interacted with.
We couldn't have pulled off such an ambitious project without the help of WilkieTV. Not only are they experts in their field, they are lovely to work with and went above and beyond.
The interactive streamed gathered huge traction on Facebook and tens of thousands of viewers tuned in.

I firmly believe that live streaming is moving to social media based platforms such as Facebook Live, creating huge scope for brands and agencies to get inventive with digital streaming. It was great to facilitate the public interacting in real-time and enable this campaign to take place.
